Internal Job Description

The Plastipak Shipping Clerk is responsible for all phases of operation of the shipping and receiving office including loading and unloading trucks via forklift.

You Will

• Perform work in a safe manner, and be responsible for following all safety policies and procedures, including lockout/tagout procedures.
• Be responsible for product quality, as outlined in the plant Quality Operational Procedures and related instruction manuals and materials.
• Be responsible for adhering to all Good Manufacturing Practices GMP rules. Responsible for maintaining high standards relating to area housekeeping.
• Have the authority to place product on hold and shut machines down.
• Assure all outgoing shipments are completed on time.
• Request assistance from the Team Leader if shipments may be delayed.
• Provide written communications via Sales Order Monitor indicating reason for late shipment and status of late shipments.
• Ensure product is preloaded or staged as per outbound schedule.
• Be responsible for the accuracy of all shippers.
• Be responsible for the management of site trailer inventory.
• Manage dock utilization.
• Follow all applicable company and OSHA safety procedures.
• Adhere to all work instructions, Good Manufacturing Practices and housekeeping procedures.
• Provide instruction to shuttle drivers regarding transfers to outside warehouses.
• Assure product shipped in FIFO sequence.
• Interface with other members of plant management to facilitate resolution of problems and mission accomplishment.
• Recommend measures to improve logistics, procedures, resources utilization, and quality of product. Performs inventory duties as required.
• Maintain clean and orderly warehouse.
• Be responsible for working effectively with the Assistant Warehouse Leader and other team members.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

You Have

• Administrative skills and experience
• Strong inter-personal and team building skills
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations.
• Familiarity with Warehouse Management system and other computer applications.
