THE ROLE:

This is a great opportunity to develop and maintain world-class regression infrastructure and database systems for chip verification in a fast-paced production environment on the very edge of modern technology! The goal of our Central CAD team at AMD is to determine a set of standards and techniques for designing chips with the highest performance, lowest cost, and lowest power usage. We then automate these best practices into a software design flow for efficiency and consistency, and work with various design teams to put the software to use in constructing next-generation GPUs, CPUs and APUs with industry-standard EDA software tools.

THE PERSON:

You are a highly motivated self-starter who is passionate about infrastructure automation, database administration, and solving complex systems problems. You are a team player with excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with other engineers, as well as with other business units across different sites and time zones. You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, are detail-oriented, and are willing to learn and ready to take on infrastructure challenges.
KEY RESPONSIBLITIES:

• Develop and maintain automation scripts for verification infrastructure maintenance tasks
• Develop and maintain the verification cloud infrastructure
• Develop and maintain AI solution for regression job memory usage prediction system

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Strong software engineering background with expert-level proficiency in Perl, Python and shell scripting; some hands-on experience with Ruby
• Experience with regression infrastructure or CI/CD systems (Jenkins)
• Experience with database administration (MySQL, or similar)
• Experience with job scheduling systems (LSF, Grid Engine, Slurm, or similar batch systems)
• Experience with version control systems (Perforce, Git)
• Experience with Linux/Unix system administration
• Experience with simulation/DV environments
• Demonstrated use of AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, or similar) to enhance productivity and automate workflows

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
