Slitter Operator

Job Description

Shift: Night

Pay Rate: $19.25

The Slitter Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining the Deacro Slitter to safely deliver the highest quality products at the best efficiency and lowest scrap possible through the use of effective manufacturing methods. Slitter operator personnel report to the Lamination Continuous Improvement Engineer.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Follow and ensure that all Key Operating Procedures are being upheld, including but not limited to:
  • Company and facility Policies
  • Safety – LTCT; use of proper PPE; adherence to all applicable safety rules
  • Quality – PQCT, Bag Specifications, Testing Frequencies and Procedures
  • SOPs – Methods for performing work
  • SSOP/Good Housekeeping standards (keep machines and area sanitized and clean)
  • Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Food/Safety Security
  • HACCP ( Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point)
  • Food Regulatory and Customer Specifications
    
• Responsible for scrap, efficiency, and product quality as set out in daily management, conserve raw materialsand supplies
  
• Set up and operate the slitter and supporting equipment according to SOC and as scheduled by managementin a timely manner
  
• Responsible for doing scheduled PM machine maintenance and troubleshooting, in case of failure and makerepairs as directed, advise management of major problems, and seek aid from the maintenance personnel asrequired for major maintenance
  
• Used in the procedures outlined in the Deacro & LB manuals perform nip roller, idler roller and otherchanges as needed
  
• Cross train as backup laminator operator and assist in change overs to assure completion in a timely mannerwith quality product
  
• Perform all normal running adjustments to the equipment as required and aligned to the SOC to produce theproduct to specification; accurately record all changes
  
• Work independently to assist in managing critical spare parts inventories and rebuilding parts
  
• Enter all required quality supporting data to plant database
  
• Fill out daily management board before the end of every shift

experience & Qualifications

education: High school diploma. Continued education in plastics preferred.
Equipment & Machinery: Slitting machine experience preferred.
