DescriptionSoftware Engineer (Full-stack)We are looking for a Full-stack Engineer in our Acquire and Frontend Platform Team.The Acquire and Frontend Platform Team are part of our Core Services group within Product Engineering. We are an enablement team responsible for providing capabilities for others in the business to make them more efficient and drive improved outcomes for the organisation. Our remit covers two distinct areas: Customer acquisition in collaboration with Marketing, and Frontend Platform where our many engineering teams are our valued customers.Please note, the minimum expectation for office attendance is a minimum of two days per week in our central London office.Who are we?We’re Funding Circle. So we pride ourselves on providing meaningful, human support as well as fast, hassle free processes to deliver an unbeatable customer experience.The roleAbility to collaborate as part of an agile cross functional team, and engage in wider technology chaptersActively participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives to foster a culture of transparency, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Proactively problem solving, identifying and confidently mitigating any risks, issues or control weaknesses that arise in your day-to-dayWilling to work across multiple technologies such as Typescript, React, Node, GraphQL, AWS, and Python.An understanding of pipelines (Github Actions and/or Terraform) and bundlers (Webpack and/or Module Federation)Develop server-side logic and APIs with an eye for choosing the right technologies to fit our needsEnhance the capability of our CMS integration to support Marketing initiatives and drive customer growth.Knowledge of responsive, intuitive and accessible user interfaces to support the ongoing development of our React component library, used by teams across the engineering department.Comfortable engaging with our Stakeholders and adapting to their feedback to ensure we deliver the right thing.Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and adhere to coding standards and conventions.Ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of software applications through thorough testing, debugging, and performance optimization.What we’re looking forA proven track record of designing and developing web applications with a passion for both frontend and backend technologies.Experienced with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and popular frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js. Proficiency in server-side languages such as Java, Python, or Node.js is also essential.Knowledge of automated testing frameworks and tools (ie. Jest, Cypress, Chromatic)Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, BDD, TDD and CI/CDKnowledge of accessibility best practicesAbility to drive and influence architectural decisions whilst mentoring and up-skilling more junior members of the teamAbility to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other engineers.
