Job Description

Job Summary:

Perform a variety of tasks relating to production operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies. You will work from diagrams and drawings, make initial layouts, and use hand and/or power tools, jigs, and saws. Makes continuity checks on work in process and completed. You may conduct quality inspections on processing line in accordance with quality specifications, which could require you to disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Performing a wide variety of electrical/mechanical product assembly operations on components, assemblies or sub-assemblies.
  • Preparing assembly work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions and following blueprint specifications
  • Populating PCB’s from Work Instructions and Assembly Drawings / Bills of Material
  • Assembling components by positioning parts and sub-assemblies examining connections for correct fit, and fastening parts and sub-assemblies.
  • Performing two or three of the following job duties; Board Mount; Solder SMT components on PCB’s
  • Cleaning PCB’s and assemblies throughout process and after completion
  • Must continuously meet/exceed production schedules and deadlines according to quality standards
  • Maintaining logs and paperwork and forms accurately consistent with company policy and practices

Required Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in soldering mechanical assemblies (electronic components)
  • Ability to communicate and understand English both written and orally
  • Ability to work under a microscope for long periods of time
  • Knowledge of ESD (Electrostatic discharge) procedures
  • Experience in reading simple assembly drawings
  • Basic computer skills including MS Office and Skype, Teams or other communication platforms
  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Previously held a J-STD-001 and/or IPC-A-610 certification

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience in two or more of the following areas: board mount, die attach, wire bond, soldering, or basic mechanical assembly
  • Currently hold an active J-STD-001 and/or IPC-A-610 certification

Full-Time Equivalent Annual Salary Range: $48,100 – $96,200 for a Level III at Oxnard CA USA. The disclosed salary range is a general guideline for Mercury team members employed at the job level at the location listed above and does not include overtime for eligible hourly employees.
