As the Sourcing and Logistics Specialist, you will play a critical role in optimizing the supply chain and ensuring the timely delivery of materials and components to meet production and operational needs. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with suppliers to ensure cost-effective and timely procurement of materials.
  • Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts with suppliers to achieve optimal purchasing outcomes.
  • Oversee the transportation and delivery of materials, managing shipping schedules, and coordinating with third-party logistics providers.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies regarding product transportation and storage.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to prevent shortages and ensure consistent availability of materials.
  • Use inventory management software to track material usage and forecast future needs to optimize stock levels.
  • Work closely with production, engineering, and sales teams to align sourcing strategies with company objectives and project timelines.
  • Provide regular updates on sourcing and logistics metrics to senior leadership to support decision-making.
  • Analyze sourcing and logistics processes for areas of improvement, recommending and implementing enhancements.
  • Stay informed on market trends and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive advantage in sourcing and logistics management.

Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates should demonstrate the following:

  • 5-7 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or logistics, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
  • SCMP Designation is an asset.
  • Proficient in using relevant software and technology tools to optimize procurement and logistics operations.
  • Experience in Microsoft Planner is an asset.
  • Experience working with blueprints and mechanical drawings is an asset.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to manage relationships effectively.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to identify and resolve logistical challenges efficiently.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and leverage insights to drive informed decision-making.
  • Proven experience in conflict management, with a track record of successfully resolving issues in a professional manner.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in data entry and verification tasks.
