Summary
Under direction is responsible for supporting workforce, economic and community development initiatives; may support other functional components of the division. Flexibility to achieve performance excellence in a telework arrangement.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Serves as subject matter expert, individually motivated and operating with a sense of urgency and personal accountability
- Processes referrals from Specialist – Workforce Recruitment and does thorough intake
- Determines which wraparound services individuals need support with and develops individualized service plan
- Assist with enrollment in supported programs and ensure individual is reporting to, and succeeding in, training
- Perform continued needs assessments in case new hurdles crop up for individuals
- Provides relevant content for coordination of TX FAME draft meeting agendas, final agendas, presentations and other materials
- Refer individuals for relevant background and drug testing necessary for training programs
- Contributes to, and follows detailed, annual program plans and KPIs for workforce initiatives
- Performs related duties as required
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or a closely related field; and three (3) years’ experience in economic, community, or workforce development; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills required in English
- Skill in research and analysis, developing and maintaining contacts with internal and external stakeholders; skill in preparing reports; skill in organizing and compiling information
- Skill in utilizing Windows Microsoft Suite especially Excel
- Ability to operate computer keyboard and basic office equipment; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, other County employees, Elected/Appointed Officials, other government agencies, outside organizations, and the general public
- Demonstrates technological intuitiveness
- Must have valid driver’s license, motor vehicle liability insurance and personal injury insurance
- Must secure and maintain a favorable background investigation and clearance
- Must clear a pre-employment physical and a pre-employment drug screen test
- May be required to work more than 40 hours during the workweek
- May be required to work weekends
Working Environment and Physical Demands:
- Working conditions are in an office / telework environment
- Occasionally moves items weighing up to 10 pounds
- Occasionally move about the office/ telework office
- Frequently communicates with others using approved technological resources; must be able to exchange accurate information through designated systems within a timely manner
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery
- Positions self to perform essential functions of the job in an office / telework environment
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position
- Flexibility to achieve performance excellence in a telework arrangement
- Maintains County-issued equipment, software, data and supplies
