Position: Specific Learning Difficulties & Exams AssessorSalary: £34,631 – £39,996 per annum (pro-rated for part time)Contract: PermanentLocation: SheffieldHours: 14.8 hours per week x 52 weeks per yearThe Sheffield College is a further and higher education institution dedicated to providing academic, vocational, and professional qualifications to approximately 13,000 young people and adults annually. Our mission is to transform lives through learning, advocating for inclusivity and diversity at every step.About the RoleThe Sheffield College are looking for a Specific Learning Difficulties & Exams Officer to join the team on a part-time basis. This is a rewarding role where you will be responsible for ensuring the College complies with the Equality Act 2010 by assessing students for exams access and ensuring any arrangements are in place to meet their needs.Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the SEND Advisors on identifying students progressing from schools and also already enrolled in the College.
  • You will assess for exam purposes and inform SEND Advisors on outcomes and strategies to support students with dyslexia
  • Contribute to staff professional development
  • Promotion of effective teaching and learning strategies to support students with specific learning difficulties

  • Good understand of student support
  • Degree or extensive experience in a discipline covered by the service
  • Specialist knowledge and expertise in specific learning difficulties
