General Summary
Our internationally recognized INPATIENT Augmentative Communication Speech Language Pathology Service is offering a 20 hour per week temporary position as coverage for a maternity leave from late March to early August.
We are seeking an ASHA CERTIFIED Speech Language Pathologist to join our dynamic patient care team in the intensive care and acute care settings at 300 Longwood!
Key Responsibilities
  • Bedside assessment and intervention in the Pediatric Intensive Care Units and all hospital wide Acute Care Services focusing on AAC assessment and intervention, developmental care, and communication accessibility.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and consultation focused on communication enhancement, acute recovery, and AAC systems and strategies.
  • Daily documentation and materials creation
  • Family and provider collaboration, education, and training;
  • Potential participation in unit rounds and specialty team meetings;

Minumum Requirements
Education and Certification

  • Master’s degree in SpeechLanguage Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in SpeechLanguage Pathology (CCCSLP) from the American SpeechLanguageHearing Association (ASHA).
  • Licensure as a SpeechLanguage Pathologist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Experience in pediatric hospital based services
  • Significant experience with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) solutions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple disciplines in a fast-paced medical environment
  • Strong independence, flexibility, clinical writing skills, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.

Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
