Sr. Communications Manager (Hybrid)

We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for a Sr. Communications Manager (Hybrid) on our Enterprise Communication team. This is a hybrid position reporting into our Chicago, IL office, requiring 3 days a week in the office.
This role is in collaboration with the Director Leadership Communications,
advance executive thought leadership at the AMA and help shape how the CEO and
senior leaders show up internally, externally, and across social platforms.
This role brings polished executive writing, industry knowledge, and
cross-channel execution to ensure leadership communications remain trusted,
cohesive, and high-impact. The role supports the AMA’s commitment to
science-based medicine, physician leadership, and building trust at a time of
disruption and change across health care.

REQUIREMENTS:
1.Bachelor’s degree required
2.Minimum 7+ years of experience in strategic communications, thought leadership development, and executive messaging
3.Experience in people management preferred.
4.Proven ability to develop and execute thought leadership plans, with demonstrated success managing large, complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives
5.Proven ability to work well under deadline pressure and meet deadlines while keeping both long- and short-term organizational goals in clear sight
6.Detail-oriented with excellent writing and editing skills; ability to collaborate across diverse stakeholders to generate compelling content
7.Excellent critical thinking and planning skills required; able to build and implement roadmaps
8.Polished interpersonal, presentation, oral communication, and consultative skills required
9.Some travel required
The American Medical Association is located at 330 N. Wabash Avenue, Chicago, IL 60611 and is convenient to all public transportation in Chicago.
This role is an exempt position, and the salary range for this position is $104,872-$138,737. This is the lowest to highest salary we believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to business consideration and geographical location, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
