The Role:

The State Filings Team is crucial to our business and works with state insurance departments to secure approvals for Hiscox’s admitted products. The primary role of the State Filings Analyst is to work closely with the state insurance departments throughout the filing process and to coordinate the product approvals it receives with Hiscox USA Underwriting, Operations/IT and Management for implementation. The State Filings Team is small and efficient and has taken their years of experience working in larger commercial insurance companies and has built new efficient systems unbridled by antiquated processes. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking to be a subject matter expert in a highly visible role for an important area with a values driven and growing company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the state filing process from end to end (this includes populating SERFF templates, creating countrywide draft filings in SERFF and entering data into internal document repositories/tracking tools)
• Assist in responding to state insurance department inquiries
• Interface with business unit staff, legal and actuarial departments in response to state insurance department inquiries.
• Assist in the tracking and filing of ISO (and/or other rating bureau) commercial products

Job Requirements:

• B.A./B.S degree
• 1-2 years experience in a professional business environment is preferred
• Insurance Regulatory experience is preferred but not required
• Basic understanding of insurance coverage
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work/function in a deadline driven environment
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products; able to employ automation to increase efficiencies.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior Commercial Lines Experience (Particularly in ISO lines)
• Prior experience with SERFF and NILS
• Prior experience drafting State Amendatory Endorsements in accordance with state regulations/departmental positions.

Please note this position is hybrid and requires working in office two (2) days per week. Position can be based in Atlanta, GA or Manhattan, NY.

Salary range: $60k-$85k
