Stock Clerk 2 – Wernersville State Hospital

The Department of Human Services is searching for a Stock Clerk 2 to join the Wernersville State Hospital. This position is responsible for the receipt, storage, and distribution for a variety of store items and non-store purchases. As a Stock Clerk 2, you will be tasked with record keeping, posting, issues, and requisitions for stock replenishment and all physical activities associated with receipt, storage, and distribution. Work involves receiving, examining, and recording the receipt of goods through an automated system to ensure conformance with specifications, as well as accepting or rejecting goods as appropriate noting any unusual occurrences such as partial shipments or damaged goods. You will also be responsible for rotating stock to avoid obsolete or outdated stock and storing materials in a safe manner to avoid damage to personnel and property. Additional responsibilities include:

• Safely using appropriate equipment, such as a mechanized lift, to transports goods from the receiving area to the storage area
• Performing on-site inventory reviews in work areas
• Completing clerical duties such, copying, filing, and collating as required to maintain orderly flow of work
• Preparing outgoing shipments and maintaining all storeroom equipment
• Compiling reports as directed by Storekeeper I or Financial Manager
• Maintaining clean and organized work area

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. May change based on operational needs.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,108.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year of experience in stockroom, warehouse, or clerical work; and graduation from high school; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Legal Requirements:

• A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
