The Office of Student Services is seeking a Student Disability Services Specialist to provide support and programming for students with disabilities. Reporting to the Associate Director of Student Services, the Student Disability Services Specialist will support the School’s commitment to providing disability services.
In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Bachelor’s degree and four years’ related experience required.
The preferred candidate will have:
Professional experience in providing disability services in higher education. Experience working with neurodiverse students, including students with learning disabilities and autistic students, as well as providing accommodations and referrals.
Experience working with a fully online adult population of students with disabilities
Familiarity with career development services and transition support for students with disabilities.
Familiarity with diverse student body including adult learners, veterans, nonnative English speakers and military personnel, persons with disabilities, and/or distance learners.
Knowledge of disability related resources and services in New York City.
Knowledge in non-profit grant writing, learning disabilities, and/or college liability.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, with particular strength in online communication.
Experience with web-based conferencing tools (Skype, GoToMeeting, Google Hangouts, etc.); strong computer application skills, including proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.); experience with CUNYFirst (PeopleSoft) and Blackboard a plus.
Ability to provide support and reasonable accommodations for students in an online platform while still maintaining the integrity and structure of the academic experience.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize duties easily and work independently as well as part of a team.
Capable of setting expectations of online accommodations and following through with both faculty and students.

Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Assists with planning and providing a comprehensive program of services for students with disabilities.

Salary commensurate with education and experience with a salary range of $64,649 – $70,238.
