Job Description:
The following are required job duties of a Substitute Teacher (education Support Specialist III):

• Deliver instruction to students based on the lesson plans provided to create a cohesive and consistent learning experience for students.
• Ensure that the curriculum is covered and that students continue to progress in their learning during the teacher’s absence.
• Adapt teaching methods to fit the needs and learning style of each student.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and productive learning environment in the classroom through managing student behavior and following school safety protocols.
• Communicate and collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and support staff.
• Provide feedback to the regular classroom teacher about the day’s activities, student behavior, and any issues that arose during their absence.
• Attend staff meetings or professional development sessions as required.
• Assist as needed to support school activities.
• Holds a high school diploma or a General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
• Have two years of full-time postsecondary education or two years of work experience with children.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Must complete 120 hours of Basic Skills Training (3 weeks) which includes physical interventions.
• Must be able to pass a CPS and background check.
