Job Summary
Candidates will need to start by June 1st, required to work at least 24 hours/week and have at maximum, one week off in the time period (June – second week of August).
Multiple positions may be available in the following areas:
*Orthopedic/Neurology/Surgical
*Medical
*Oncology
*Intensive Care Unit
*Progressive Care Stepdown Unit
*Women’s and Children’s (NICU, Pediatrics, Mother Baby, Labor &
Delivery)
*Emergency Department
Assists the nursing staff in providing excellent, effective, and safe patient care. Responsible for providing patient personal care, bathing, and, personal hygiene. Participates in admission, dismissal also transfer process and contributes to the permanent documentation of patient data. Demonstrates knowledge and skills of effective communication and promotes teamwork.

Job Description
Essential Functions:
- Answers the telephone efficiently and effectively, transferring telephone calls appropriately.
- Greets patients and visitors in a pleasant manner, effectively handling their needs.
- Alerts the appropriate persons of the arrival of a patient.
- Consistently provides quality customer service to all customers by performing various secretarial functions in an efficient and accurate manner.
- Provides general office support and is willing to be a team player.
- Maintains confidentiality of patient and departmental information with no infractions.
- Provides direct personal patient care such as bathing, toileting and any other needs of the patient.
- Will provide care for multiple patients within a department.
- Works in collaboration with Nurses as well as other disciplines within the department.
Additional Requirements
Preferred:
Certification – Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) – South Dakota Board of Nursing
education – High School Diploma/GED Equivalent in General Studie
Scheduling Requirements: Requires the ability to work assigned schedules and hours as determined by the department.
Physical Requirements: Very Heavy work – exerting over 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or more than 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force occassionally (up to 33% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects. Frequent exposure to contaminated needles and infectious body substances.
