You will conduct evaluations followed up by reports or recommendations on operational needs regarding equipment, facilities, services and manpower, and if necessary, take on general coordination of major remote assignments.We are looking for a candidate with the following:Qualifications:Community college diploma in electronics technology (audiovisual, telecommunications or computer systems option) or other relevant fieldSeven (7) or more years’ experience performing similar or related dutiesSkills:Solid communication skills, and ability to make complex technical concepts understandable to non-expertsGood knowledge of the running of a newsroom and technical workflowsBroad, varied knowledge of production methods, technical equipment, as well as production crafts and workflowsGeneral knowledge of CBC/Radio-Canada media lines (TV, radio and digital)Judgment, initiative and good problem-solving skillsExperience coordinating a work teamLeadershipAbility to be highly resourcefulAbility to work in an environment where teamwork is essential as well as maintain positive interpersonal relations with the various work groups that make up the teamAbility to work well under pressureFluency in French (language of work)English is an assetValid driver’s licenceKnowledge of IT and network support requiredKnowledge of radio console operation is an assetKnowledge of video editing is an assetCandidates will be tested as follows:InterviewCandidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing.We thank all applicants for their interest, but only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.As part of our recruitment process, candidates who advance to the nextstep will be asked to complete a background check.
