Description

Summary: Responsible for all daily packaging maintenance functions in support of the plant, including coordination and activities of the Packaging Mechanics.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

1.tPlanning and evaluation of all packaging maintenance activities.

2.tTechnical ability to assess systems for re-engineering or troubleshooting at both hands-on levels and engineering levels; ability to do technical training throughout department.

3.tFamiliar with the manufacturing operation, equipment and support systems of the company and will set up systems to respond to maintenance concerns regarding them.

4.tCooperates with other management personnel in formulating and establishing company policies, operating procedures, and goals.

5.tReviews technical problems and procedures of departments and recommends solutions to problems or changes in procedures.

6.tResponsible for setting-up and managing systems for preventative maintenance.

7.tDevelops staff to provide the necessary skills to support the maintenance responsibilities for the plant.

8.tContinues to access skill levels and recommends developmental activities as appropriate.

9.tProvides necessary support for the other plant functions/activities as determined by the Assistant and/or Maintenance Manager.

10.tContinually evaluates the capabilities of the packaging Maintenance department relating to equipment, tools and other items necessary to provide a satisfactory level of service to the plant.

Requirements

Qualifications:

*tPrior high speed packaging experience preferred.

*tPrior dairy experience preferred.

*tStrong communication abilities, written and verbal.

*tStrong electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and servo/robotics experience.

*tAbility to administrate over Departmental projects and run projects effectively with attention to budget and scope.

*tAbility to assist Maintenance Manager in administration over department budgets

education and/or Experience:

*tHigh School Diploma/GED required.

*tTechnical degree in Technical/Engineering discipline preferred.

*tMinimum of 5 years’ experience in packaging field required
