PURPOSE OF THE position:

The Supervisor Projects provides project support to field engineering managers through the planning, estimating, and coordination of track projects, and creating, monitoring and analyzing capital and maintenance track programs. The successful candidate will prepare requests for materials and contractor support, review and process invoices, complete monthly financial reports of accruals and budget forecasts, and provide project management review and guidance for engineering managers.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

* Assists with collection and preparation of estimates with engineering managers
* Prepares project networks creation in SAP project systems
* Creates purchase requisitions for procurement of materials and/or contractor support
* Reviews and processes invoices accordingly per contract and project accuracy
* Completes monthly financial reports for forecasts and accruals
* Manages projects, often with budgets up to $5M in size
* Reviews capital budgets with engineering managers monthly
* Develop annual plans for future work

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university
• Minimum two (2) years of engineering, construction or railroad industry experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Valid driver’s license required
• Proficient in Excel

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

Medical and Drug Testing

This is a safety sensitive position and a successful pre-employment medical assessment including physical, vision, hearing, and a negative company or regulated drug test is required. Post hire qualification drug testing may also be required.

Management Conductor Program

Becoming a qualified conductor or locomotive engineer is the single best way for a management employee to learn the business at CPKC. You may be required to obtain a certification or to maintain your current certification/qualification as a conductor or locomotive engineer.
