Summary

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

About the Position: This position is located with the National Guard Bureau, CIO/G-6, IT Operations Division, Schedule and Test Branch, Arlington, VA.

Duties

• Operate and maintain the Installation Processing Node (IPN) environment hosting the United States Army National Guard enterprise applications supporting Headquarters and 50 States and Territories.
• Evaluate performance of subordinate staff/leaders and evaluate subordinate employees on work and administrative matters.
• Advise on internal and external program and policy affecting substantial program and policy issues.
• Responsible for protection, recovery, and restoration of assigned Army National Guard and National Guard Bureau mission essential information and applications.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: : directing information technology (IT) operations to optimize and consolidate data processing applications such as data center and cloud data center management; maintaining IT security posture in accordance with applicable policies and procedures; managing overall server infrastructure; providing base support initiatives for projects and programs.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service (GS-13 or equivalent).

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone–no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
