Organization Mission

The project aims to provide all kinds of guidance, counseling and psycho-social support for cancer patients through awareness and educational programs about the disease and ways to prevent it, and follow ups on the latest innovations of promising treatments for cancer.

This is critically important to the organization because a thriving volunteer community is its lifeblood, providing the essential human power to achieve its mission. The responsibilities listed—from structured onboarding and monthly check-ins to tracking burnout and offering recognition—are the practical, actionable steps to ensure volunteers remain motivated, connected, and committed. By actively cultivating a positive volunteer experience, the organization not only retains its most valuable asset but also fosters a powerful culture of shared purpose and dedication that directly translates into greater impact

Key Responsibilities

Assist with onboarding new volunteers by sharing welcome materials, introducing them to the team, and helping to get them started with their first tasks.

Maintain the volunteer database, keeping information on roles, availability, and contact details up to date.

Prepare monthly check-in templates and help compile feedback from volunteers to share with leadership.

Help identify and address volunteer engagement needs by flagging trends to the leadership team and suggesting ways to re-engage volunteers.

Coordinate quarterly online social events, such as a virtual reflection or highlight circle, to foster team connection.

Work with leadership to prepare recognition by collecting shoutouts and curating stories for team awards.

Draft monthly highlight stories about our volunteers for our social media channels or other recognition ideas.

Final deliveries:
– Each volunteer is expected to draft 1-2 stories a month (3-6 total)

Required Skills and Experience

Excellent communication, empathy, and organization
Familiarity with MS planner
Ability to manage people with kindness and firmness
Strong listening and interpersonal awareness
Background in HR, coaching, or volunteering is a plus
