A Day in the Life of a Surgical TechnologistAs a Surgical Technologist, you’ll be essential in preparing and managing the sterile environment within the surgical suite, adhering to AORN and AST guidelines. Responsibilities include assisting with patient preparation, from transport to surgical draping, all under the guidance of a Perioperative RN. During surgeries, you are vital in providing necessary instruments and supplies directly to surgeons, anticipating their needs to maintain efficiency and safety. This role also involves post-surgical tasks such as room turnover, instrument decontamination, and restocking. You’ll work collaboratively with surgeons, physician assistants, and nurses, contributing to a seamless operative process and ensuring the highest standards of patient care.
