We are actively seeking a System Architect/Team Lead. This position will be staffed as full-time equivalent (FTE). Work will be completed on-site at a government facility in Washington DC. Situational telework may be authorized, coordination with the Program Manager and COR required. A Top Secret clearance is required.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Puyenpa team supporting the Team Awareness Kit Interagency program. The main responsibilities of the role include:

      • Provide immediate support, communications with federal program managers and USSS federal team leaders.
      • Maintain excellent communication and coordination experience to facilitate interactions with the Department of Defense and other situational awareness or law enforcement partners.
      • Attend classified meetings to acquire knowledge of technological upgrades, progress, modernization, use of all elements associated with the TAK platform.
      • Collaborate/coordinate with CISO and/or Cyber Security to ensure IT security compliance with architectural design and sustainment of TAK platform infrastructure.
      • Create and/or update after action reports, proposals modification requests, approved product request for all upgrades or changes to the TAK platform
      • Develop and provide expertise to subordinates for the creation and/or modification of TAK platform standard of operating procedures.
      • Creation and/or modification of TAK platform help desk signal flow and troubleshooting charts/documentation.
      • Create and/or modification of TAK platform TAK manuals and/or guides to support end users.
      • Coordinate with and/or integrate with small team mission planning systems, cellular and tactical radio networks.
      • Maintain communications with key government personnel and contractors within the TAK community to ensure awareness of upcoming platform updates, problems and/or enhancements.
      • Make recommendations for IT Security plan for platform enhancements as technology changes as features or operational capabilities become available. Recommendations must include purpose – benefit to the USSS mission, capabilities, limitations and risks associated to security, operational capabilities, technical support, cost and/or schedule.
      • Communicate and coordinate with USSS enterprise server teams to include the Mobile Device Management teams to develop and publish policy and operational procedures for use and distribution of interagency operability applications and/or end user software.
      • Perform all administrator and support capabilities. Act as administrator and customer support when the administrator is unavailable.
      • Perform server installations and updates for all platforms including TAK related to interagency operability.
      • Install and support for third party software utilized specifically within the interagency operability platforms including TAK
      • Provide proper physical and operational security for all government provided equipment.
      • Provide electronic security guidance for virtual security, hardening etc.
      • Maintain and support infrastructure and end user systems, to include creation and maintenance of operations manuals, troubleshooting guides and overall system maintenance and operations.
      • Create and maintain, support guidance, standard operating procedures, policy updates or any formal document required to support the USSS interagency operability programs to include TAK.
      • Initiate or participate as needed, in regular communication and coordination with USSS Cyber Security and any required sections for proper accreditation or certification of proper platform security or operations.
      • Initiate or participate as needed, in regular communication and coordination with the USSS technology service desk in order to provide adequate standard operational procedures and/or maintenance/sustainment customer support procedures.
      • Provide tier two escalation support for those trouble tickets that first level help desk or technology support personnel are not able to resolve first call. End user devices to include smartphones, tablets, computers, laptops, enterprise devices etc.
      • Provide all levels of support for the interagency operability platforms in classified environments such as Joint Operations Systems or National Security Events.
      • Provide interagency support for those components required to support National Security Events to include those agencies such as Department of Defense, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Department of Homeland Security or any other augmentees the USSS requires interagency communication.
      • Support additional platform hardware, and potentially integrate such hardware/software into the USSS utilized interagency operational platform as approved enhancements are upgrades become available as proven operationally beneficial by the Department of Defense.

Requirements:

  • Expertise Level: Subject Matter Expert.
  • Experience: 10 years IT Systems Architecture experience.
  • Experience Needed: Azure Cloud computing, Linux Environments (Red Hat / CentOS), Windows Environments, VMware Environments,  Network Security, Mobile Applications (iOS / Android), Mobile Device Management, Integrated and tactical Radio Networks, Geospatial / Mapping caching servers.
  • 10 years TAK experience.
