System Software Engineer – Sarasota, FL

This position is full-time, Monday – Thursday, 7:00am – 5:30pm, on-site in Sarasota, FL

This position requires use of information or access to hardware, which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). We are looking for a Systems Software Engineer to join our team.

This role is responsible for analyzing customer requirements then writing the products’ system and software requirements, creating test cases and procedures, and verifying proper functionality.

GENERAL DUTIES:

• Analyze and evaluate customer specifications
• Write technical documents including System Requirements, Software Requirements and Software Test Cases and Procedures
• Conduct peer reviews of requirements and test procedures
• Perform software verification and validation activities
• Prepare and present technical design reviews both internally and externally
• Other duties as assigned

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associate Degree in Engineering Related Curriculum, Minimum. B.S. degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Excellent written, communication and documentation skills and attention to detail
• Working knowledge of software life cycle data items and configuration management
• Strong troubleshooting/problem-solving skills
• Basic understanding of programming concepts
• Understanding of Aviation Software Standard, RTCA/DO-178C
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Working knowledge of MS Office Suite
• Read/Write Fluently in English
• Must be well-organized, flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Cooperation with others in team environment for cross training and conference on operational issues.
• Initiative in learning and changing work methods to accomplish assigned tasks on a timely basis.
