Primary Teacher OpportunityAre you a passionate and dedicated Primary Teacher looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people? A leading independent specialist day school in Mitcham, South London, is seeking an enthusiastic educator to join their supportive team.This school provides high-quality education for boys and girls aged 4-12 with a primary diagnosis of Autism (ASD) and additional needs such as MLD, SLD, SLCN, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, sensory issues, and associated behavioural difficulties. They pride themselves on their experienced and expert staff who enable pupils to access a personalised curriculum, making significant educational progress while developing crucial social communication skills. • Deliver a personalised curriculum that meets the diverse learning needs of pupils aged 4-12, with a strong focus on Key Stage 2 experience.
• Develop and implement engaging lessons that support educational progress and enhance social communication skills.
• Work collaboratively with a dedicated staff team and extensive Teaching Assistant (TA) support in classes to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
• Build strong, meaningful relationships with pupils, fostering their confidence and encouraging friendships.
• Communicate effectively and regularly with parents and carers, providing updates on progress and offering advice and support.

What We’re Looking For

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
• Experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of and experience with Autism (ASD), MLD, SLD, and SLCN.
• Proven Key Stage 2 experience.
• A compassionate, patient, and resilient approach to teaching.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
