Primary Purpose

Provide all students with appropriate learning experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical and social growth; enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society. Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Clear Creek ISD.

Qualifications

Education/Certification/Licensure

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

Valid Texas teaching certificate for the subject and level assigned

Demonstrate competency in the subject areas assigned

Special Knowledge/Skills

Knowledge of subject(s) assigned

General knowledge of curriculum and instruction

Ability to instruct students and manage behavior

Display openness to change and innovation to meet the needs of all students

Demonstrated expertise in the following areas:

  • Content knowledge
  • Standards-based instruction
  • Instructional strategies and best practices
  • Effective instruction for diverse learners
  • Data interpretation
  • Professional learning creation and delivery

Experience

At least one-year student teaching or approved internship

Major Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Assess and evaluate students’ motor competency, physical fitness, play and leisure, recreation and sport skills.
  2. Attend and participate in ARD meetings – develop and implement IEPs for students with disabilities.
  3. Provide direct services to students with special needs in the area of Physical Education.
  4. Consult with physical education and special education staff
  5. Use developmental teaching methods/materials and gymnasium/classroom organizational abilities in physical and motor fitness, fundamental motor skills in aquatics, dance, individual and group games and sports for student with disabilities and/or motor problems.
  6. Assist students to meet their educational and physical needs, e.g. could include bathroom needs, lifting, etc.
  7. Exhibit CCISD Core Values of trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship.
  8. Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Clear Creek ISD.
  9. Stay up-to-date professionally through the selection of quality professional learning opportunities for personal growth.
  10. Research district policy, precedent, and current practices prior to taking action.
  11. Participate as an effective team member who contributes to district, department, and content goals.
  12. Demonstrates proficient levels of technology applications.
  13. Participates fully in drills and safety exercises to provide for the safety and overall emotional wellbeing of students.
  14. Utilize time wisely for effective management of job responsibilities.
  15. Maintain punctuality in daily work times, appointments, and meetings.
  16. Meet task completion deadlines established by supervisor.
  17. Maintain friendly customer-service-driven interactions with all stakeholders, students, teachers, administrators, and co-workers.
  18. Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that the goals of the school/department are met.
  19. Maintain a positive and professional tone in all communication (i.e. email, written, and verbal).
  20. Perform other duties and accept other responsibilities as assigned.

Frequent walking, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, lifting, carrying

Terms: 187 days or as assigned
