This full-time role will involve delivering inspiring lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with potential opportunities at KS5 depending on experience. • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Eligibility to work in the UK.
• Up-to-date knowledge of the National Curriculum in Science.
• An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).

• Excellent subject knowledge in biology, chemistry, and/or physics
• Ability to differentiate lessons for mixed-ability classes
• Strong organisational and planning skills
• Effective communication with students, parents, and staff
• Data-driven decision making
• Reflective teaching practice

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality science lessons across KS3-KS4 (and KS5 if applicable)
• Plan and prepare schemes of work, lessons, and homework
• Mark and assess student work against departmental and national standards
• Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of all learners
• Create a safe, positive learning environment
• Collaborate with other staff in the science department and across the school
• Encourage scientific literacy and curiosity
• Ensure practical activities are conducted safely and effectively
• Keep up to date with scientific developments and integrate them into teaching
• Liaise with technicians and ensure resources are used efficiently
