Position Information
Wilson Park School is located in Lismore. The school delivers high quality education for students with a disability from kindergarten to year 12 in a combined primary and secondary setting for students living in Lismore and the surrounding area. The school currently has an enrolment of 82 students, 34% of students are Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander.
Wilson Park School supports learning for all students through an inclusive curriculum, providing learning adjustments for every student. All families are involved in individual education planning meetings and are collaborative partners in the learning process.
Specific Selection Criteria
1. Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with Autism, Moderate Intellectual Disability and Severe Intellectual Disability (Primary and Secondary).
2. Demonstrated ability to create and maintain a learning environment that ensures students are supported by reasonable adjustments and quality teaching strategies to meet their individual needs.
3. Demonstrated commitment to student wellbeing with the ability to develop positive relationships and work effectively to create safe and engaging learning environments.
4. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills used to work collaboratively with staff, students, parents, community and external support agencies.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
Special Notes
This is a permanent part-time position of 2 days per week, 0.4FTE (full time equivalent).
