SEMH Teaching Assistant – September Start
Location: Waterlooville
Hourly Rate: £13.80 to £15 per hourStart Date: As soon as possible/ September 2025
Job Type: Full-time, Long-TermAre you passionate about supporting young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs?GSL Education is currently looking for a nurturing and proactive SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a specialist setting in Waterlooville, dedicated to helping children thrive both emotionally and academically.Your Role as an SEMH Teaching Assistant Will Include:

• Providing tailored one-to-one and group support to pupils with SEMH needs
• Assisting teachers in delivering a curriculum that is both therapeutic and engaging
• Encouraging emotional regulation and building trusted relationships with students
• Supporting the development of positive behaviour strategies
• Collaborating with therapists, support staff and families to ensure holistic care

We’re Searching For Someone Who:

• Is calm, empathetic, and resilient in challenging situations
• Understands the complexities of emotional and behavioural needs in young people
• Has a genuine commitment to inclusion and student wellbeing
• Is keen to learn and willing to receive specialist training (no prior experience necessary)
• Works well as part of a multidisciplinary team
