We are looking for a project coordinator to provide administrative support across the Regional Energy Strategic Planning (RESP) team including to the Head of RESP. The RESP team is being set up to integrate national and local energy plans across all energy vectors within Great Britain. This is a new and rapidly growing team which will have teams based within the regions working with local communities. The role will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to work in a fast-paced and friendly environment to ensure the team activities run smoothly. 

This role can be based Warwick and we continue to offer hybrid working from office and home. We are open to full time and part time applicants, as well as flexible working arrangements.

About the National Energy System Operator (NESO)

In Autumn of 2024, the ESO transitioned to National Energy System Operator, or NESO for short. Previously denoted as the Future System Operator (or FSO), the new National Energy System Operator is the independent body responsible for planning Great Britain’s electricity and gas networks and operating the electricity system. 

The ESO, including all of its existing roles, are now at the heart of the new National Energy System Operator. As NESO, we will build on our existing roles, capabilities, and ways of working significantly to create an organisation the energy system and its users’ need. Our new capabilities will enable us to look across vectors, including electricity, natural gas and hydrogen, and crucially consider the trade-offs between them.

The organisation is set up as a public corporation with its own Board of independent directors, with complete operational independence from government, the regulator and any and all commercial interest. As was the ESO, NESO will be licenced and regulated by Ofgem through price control agreements and obligated to identify optimal solutions to system operations and planning in the most sustainable, affordable and secure way for all.

Key Accountabilities

As RESP Project Coordinator you will be responsible for providing administrative support across the RESP team. This will include: 

  • Diary management and wider administrative support for the Head of RESP
  • Setting up and helping to run team meetings and events, with agendas, minutes and action tracking as required.
  • Updating CRM for Head of RESP.
  • On-boarding new starters to RESP making them feel welcome and ensuring they have all the technology required on day 1.
  • Supporting external workshops and recording workshop outputs as required
  • Management of the team calendar and events
  • Updating or amending project documents and trackers in line with any requested changes
  • Purchase order and invoice processing
  • Developing a strong network with other project and team coordinators across the ESO to understand and share best practice.

About you

  • Experience of managing a full and dynamic diary, working with both internal and external contacts
  • Effective at organising and liaising with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong and resilient time management skills
  • Comfortable flexing in line with changing priorities
  • Excellent at building relationships internally and externally
  • Good communication skills
  • Proactive in progressing and seeking out tasks to support project team
  • Experience of Microsoft Office and Outlook essential
  • SharePoint experience would be beneficial
  • CRM experience would be beneficial

About what you’ll get

A competitive salary between £39,000 – £43,000 per annum – dependent on experience and capability. As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on company performance, 26 days annual leave as standard and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
