Location: On-site – Chattanooga, TN

Our client is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to support and grow their U.S. automotive customer base in the Chattanooga, TN area. This is a technically-focused role ideal for someone with strong hands-on experience in automation or electrical systems and a deep understanding of the automotive industry. Unlike traditional sales roles, this position places a higher emphasis on technical expertise and the ability to collaborate directly with engineering and production teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a technical point of contact for automotive clients in the U.S.
• Understand client needs and propose tailored automation/electrical solutions
• Work closely with engineering, project, and product teams to ensure technical accuracy
• Support pre- and post-sales activities, including site visits, presentations, and troubleshooting
• Identify opportunities for technical improvement or upgrades within customer operations
• Collaborate with international teams as needed for project execution

Required Qualifications:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field
• Experience with PLCs, robotics, sensors, or industrial control systems
• Technical sales or customer-facing engineering experience
• Strong technical background in automation or electrical engineering
• Experience in the automotive industry is essential
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Hands-on, practical approach to customer challenges
