But that’s not all, discover why there’s really no place like Principality;We have an exciting opportunity for a Test Engineer to join our IT Team and work as part of the QA Community within Principality Building Society.As a Test Engineer you will be responsible for test automation, regression and non-functional testing during the pre-release phases of the project lifecycle and play a key role in contributing and delivering Continuous Improvements to increase effectiveness and efficiency of the QA capability and ways of working.Key Responsibilities for Automation Test Analysis, Planning & Execution

  • Design, build and deploy effective pipeline, regression and non-functional test automation solutions
  • Apply appropriate automation technologies to meet the short- and long-term goals of the organisation
  • Enhance test frameworks and develop consistent automated scripts using Visual Studio C# and Playwright
  • Estimate test accurately and coordinate with team members for work activities.
  • Report and verify software bug fixes to accept automation criteria

Key Responsibilities for Quality Assurance Oversight & Control

  • Define Test Plans in line with our Test Strategy
  • Manage delivery in line with our Quality Standards
  • Design and execute exploratory test scripts
  • Effectively utilise relevant testing tools as appropriate (eg AzureDevops, SQL, Query Analyser, Jmeter, Blazemeter, C#, Playwright etc)
  • Facilitate and communicate progress updates and quality metrics to multiple audiences to support and enable key decisions
  • Identify, Analyse and Mitigate risks to quality and program/project delivery

Essential Criteria for the role

  • Proven experience of Building Automated Test Frameworks using automation tools e.g. C#/Selenium/Playwright
  • Hands-On Experience of Designing and Creating effective and maintainable Automation Frameworks and Test suites
  • In-depth proven working knowledge of UI, API and Integration test automation concepts and principles
  • Good knowledge of CI/CD and Azure Devops Pipelines
  • Experience and understanding of the methods and techniques required to perform various types of testing including Functional, Non-Functional and Regression Testing
  • Strong appreciation of various software delivery methodologies e.g. Agile
  • An excellent ability to grasp new strategies, tactics and technical issues quickly
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, coupled with the ability to rapidly assimilate knowledge and business process
  • Ability to manage own workload and work on a diverse range of projects often to tight time scales

Desirable Criteria

  • Successful delivery in an effective Agile environment e.g. Scrum
  • Experience with testing toolsets (Azure Devops,VSTS,)
  • Training and coaching non-technical staff in testing methodologies
  • Experience in using SQL Management tool
  • Load & Performance Testing
  • Mobile Testing
  • Compatibility Testing
