The Humanities Division at UNM-Valencia
is accepting applications for Temporary Part-Time Faculty members to teach Spanish
courses at the 1000-2000 college level in Fall 2025, Spring 2026, and/or Summer
2026 semesters. Positions are contingent upon the need of each
semester as determined by student enrollment levels and current course
offerings.
Located about 30 miles south of Albuquerque in rural Valencia County, The
University of New Mexico-Valencia Campus is a two-year branch campus of The
University of New Mexico which functions as a community college in the region
and is designated a Hispanic Serving Institution. With an emphasis on
teaching excellence, Valencia Campus offers academic transfer programs,
technical programs, Adult education, and Dual Credit courses to high schools in
Valencia and Socorro Counties. The faculty and staff serve a student body
of over 2,000 students per semester.

Minimum Qualifications:
- A Master’s Degree in Spanish (or related field)
- One-year Spanish teaching experience at the post-secondary level
Preferred Qualifications:
- A Ph.D. in Spanish (or related field)
- One-year Spanish teaching experience at a community college
- One year teaching experience using Canvas
- Excellence in teaching (documented via student or supervisor evaluations)
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities
