Tractor Body Lead Technician

Job Description:

The Truck Body Lead Technician is responsible for overseeing and performing high-quality body repair on Tractor Trailers. This role requires strong leadership skills to guide a team of technicians, ensure adherence to safety standards, and maintain the highest quality of workmanship.

Please note this position is on-site at Stevens Transport HQ in Dallas, Tx.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, train, and mentor a team of technicians, ensuring the team meets performance and quality goals.
• Evaluate repair work to ensure it aligns with company standards and industry regulations.
• Maintain accurate service records and ensure proper documentation of repairs.
• Communicate effectively with management and company drivers regarding repair progress and any challenges encountered.
• Ensure the shop area is clean, organized, and compliant with safety protocols.
• Monitor and manage inventory of parts and supplies necessary for body repairs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in truck body repair or a related field.
• Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations in the collision repair industry.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to train and manage a team.
• Experience with Excel and Outlook

Preferred Qualifications

• ASE or I-CAR certification in body repair.
• Experience working in a high-volume fleet maintenance environment.
• Experience repairing Kenworth, Freightliner, Peterbilt body work.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Work Experience:

• Demonstrated history of progressive responsibility in truck body repair.
• Previous leadership experience is strongly preferred.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Additional technical training or certifications in body repair are a plus.
