Job Summary:
Assist in supervising the activities of the transportation department including staffing, training, scheduling, company policy compliance, regulatory compliance, and performance management to ensure employee well-being, consistent and timely deliveries to customers and a professional and safe work environment. 
Duties and Responsibilities:
 

• Supervise the daily responsibilities of the team to ensure assignments are completed in a safe and timely manner. 
• Assist in creating and updating work schedules to ensure proper staffing and timely deliveries. 
• Assist with administering training programs on proper work procedures, safety, customer service, company policies/procedures and applicable regulations. 
• Review drivers’ logs, hours of service and other requirements to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. 
• Investigate accidents and maintain records. 
• Comply with reporting procedures on work-related injuries or illnesses. 
• Work in a team environment and communicate effectively with internal an external customers to ensure prompt and timely resolutions. 
• Monitor expiration dates of driver licenses and DOT physical recertifications to ensure timely compliance. 
• Assist in ensuring a safe work environment of the dock and yard by monitoring cleanliness and organization. 
• Ensure proper maintenance of equipment and timely report and follow-through on any issues.
