Position Summary

To drive business development ad create new relationships with Clients leading to new working markets and revenue streams for Crawford Surveying Services (CSS). This is a business development role designed to initiate strategic long term growth with express focus on growth in to new markets and the development of a Building Consultancy model. This role will be based in Scotland, covering Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Functional Knowledge

  • A proven ability to translate opportunities into commercial gain.
  • Previous experience of identifying and exploiting new Clients, working within the OJEU and other tender systems to identify, follow up and pursue individual opportunities
  • Previous exposure to strategic as well as tactical / operational levels.

General Background, Experience & Professional Qualifications

  • A good understanding of the building consultancy and surveying market with proven sales and growth experience.
  • Experience of product and team development leading to increased sales and growth
  • RICS / CIOB or orther appropriate professional qualification linked to the Building Consultancy world.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strong client facing individual with the ability to manage new accounts.
  • Creating and working to a documented plan.
  • Awareness of and competent of identifying market opportunities
  • Facilitate a handover to operational management for the ongoing development of the building consultancy.
  • Managing clients to deliver against budgeted revenue margin case numbers.
  • Product expert who will constantly liaise with Clients and internal teams to ensure that agreed targets are met.
  • Responsible for developing the clients’ strategic presence by understanding their business, strategy and key issues and facilitating this into operational delivery.
  • Develop new business by identifying new clients, seeking new opportunities with existing Clients and building upon strong relationships with key clients.
  • Ensuring we pro-actively develop the relationship with the client, particularly the communication strategy, through reports, management information, regular meetings etc.
  • Develop client relationships by understanding and meeting client requirements, including qualitative and service standards.
  • Establish close working relationships with Operational Business Heads throughout the business.
  • Acting as the interface between the client and Crawford.
  • Liaise with the wider Sales and Marketing team in responding to new business opportunities and preparing tender documentation.
  • Actively seek to develop oneself and take responsibility for your own training and development.
