Background:
UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security.
The Research and Data Section, within the Policy, Programme and Intergovernmental Division (PPID), leads UN Women’s research and data agenda and positions the organization as a global knowledge broker on gender equality and the human rights of women and girls. The Section supports evidence-informed policymaking by producing, analyzing, and using gender statistics and research, including global flagship publications and programmatic initiatives.
The work of the Research and Data Section is delivered through two major and complementary workstreams:
UN Women is recruiting two (2) Operations Analyst (P1) positions through this vacancy. The two posts have identical functions and responsibilities. They will be assigned to support one of the two workstreams described above (Women Count Programme or flagship research and policy work), depending on operational needs.
Reporting to the Programme Management Specialist, Women Count Programme, or the Deputy Chief of the R&D Section, the Operations Analyst provides operational, financial, and administrative support to the Research and Data Section. The incumbent works in close coordination with programme managers, technical teams, and relevant UN Women units to support effective programme implementation, sound financial management, and efficient delivery of results.
