Working under the authority of the Head of Office and the direct supervision of the Senior Education Coordinator in UNESCO Mozambique, the UNV will assist with the design and development of programmes, projects and activities in TVET, skills development. literacy and NFE in Mozambique from a lifelong learning perspective and in line with UNESCO’s TVET Strategy (2022-2029). The UNV will specifically be responsible to support the implementation and the coordination of the following activities: • Support policy development and creation in TVET, skills development, literacy and NFE and advocate UNESCO’s position / involvement; • Support outreach strategies for TVET, skills development, literacy and NFE programmes to maintain and expand UNESCO’s technical support, visibility, partnerships and resource mobilization efforts; • Assist in the organization of related consultations and events and ensure regular contributions and updates to reporting in online and knowledge management systems; • Assist the Senior Education Coordinator to liaise / build partnerships with relevant government entities, UN Agencies, bilateral and multilateral partners (e.g. GIZ), continental development banks (e.g. African Development Bank) and International Institutions (World Bank, European Union); • Work with colleagues in UNESCO Mozambique to identify and leverage synergies between TVE and other programming undertaken in Mozambique by UNESCO and other agencies, • Support the Senior Education Coordinator to ensure effective communication and advocacy with key partners like GIZ and other UNESCO colleagues in the region, at Headquarters and in concerned UNESCO institutes. Representation and partner relations • Represent UNESCO in appropriate coordination forum; • Engage with both national authorities and civil society; • Support UNESCO’s participation in regional structures and processes when required

At least four years of professional work experience at the national and/or international level in education (preferably TVE) or other relevant programmes; experience with NGOs working in the field is an asset, as is experience working in the UN or other international development organization, Bachelor degree with relevant experience can also be considered.
