Context

This assignment is part of UNFPA’s Youth Empowerment Programme. It aims to match experienced professionals with emerging youth leaders for mentorship and capacity building over a 12-week period. Volunteers will mentor participants to promote confidence, build relevant skills, and offer career guidance. The mentorship initiative will focus on professional development, health awareness, and leadership, with a particular emphasis on underserved or marginalized youth populations. The programme will be conducted bilingually in English and French.

Task Description

Online Volunteer Mentors will contribute in the following ways: 1. Mentorship Sessions: o Conduct regular one-on-one or small group mentorship sessions (weekly or biweekly) via virtual platforms. o Each mentor will be assigned a group of 3–5 or 1 mentees. o Provide guidance on: ▪ Leadership and personal development ▪ Gender equality and reproductive health education ▪ Career planning and soft skills ▪ Resume writing, LinkedIn optimization, interview preparation ▪ Navigating higher education and professional opportunities 2. Facilitating Group Discussions and Knowledge Sharing: o Participate in or lead webinars, discussion circles, or themed talks on youth empowerment and related topics. 3. Community Engagement: o Support the growth of a vibrant mentorship community by contributing to online forums, sharing resources, and encouraging peer learning among mentees.
