Job DescriptionThe Unit Secretary for Alternate Level of Care (ALC), Patient Navigation and Discharge Planning will provide corporate and administrative support for the Mackenzie Helps Program, and Surge unit’s. The Unit Secretary provides clerical and administrative support to maintain progress and efficiency to enhance the patient services and staff experience further. The Unit Secretary works with the team to coordinate activities, scheduling, provide customer service, and ensure equipment and supplies are intact and in good condition while on surge units. The Unit Secretary supports Mackenzie Helps in data collection, and patient surveys. The Unit Secretary will respond to patient telephone inquiries and coordinates with supporting departments and external stakeholders.What must you have?

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of Medical Terminology.

What else do you bring?

• Prior experience in an administrative/clerical role required, preferably within a healthcare environment.
• Keyboarding skills (40 wpm).
• Experience with computer applications, including Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Must demonstrate excellent organizational skills.
• Demonstrates ability to effectively deescalate situations
• Demonstrates Customer Service skills
• Proven attendance record.
• Demonstrates understanding and complies with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive
• environment for all.
• Ability to perform the essential duties of the job.
• Effectively uses empathy in interactions with others and demonstrates behaviours consistent with Mackenzie Health’s Commitment to Caring.

Preferably, your profile also includes:

• EPIC, EPF, ESP experience.
• Previous experience within the Unit Secretary classification
