In the Progressive Cardiac Care Unit (PCCU), you will work with patients with Cardiac and Vascular disease, some requiring an intermediate level of care. We care for patients with congestive heart failure, acute myocardial infarcts (STEMI, NSTEMI), cardiac dysrhythmia, cardiomyopathy, pulmonary edema, amputations, etc. Patients require many interventions on this unit including, echocardiogram, nuclear studies, pacemakers, percutaneous coronary intervention, vascular surgery, cardioversion and cath lab procedures.On this unit, you will become an expert at interpreting cardiac rhythms and skilled in drip titration, and post cath interventions such as TR Bands and Femoral Sheath pulls. Our nurses are trained in ACLS, NIHSS and responds to code blue events throughout the hospital.

Performs general clerical and reception duties according to needs of patient unit or department. position is characterized by preparing and maintaining patient charts, transcribing physician orders, and entering information into computerized patient care system. Works with patients of all age groups except neonate.

REQUIRED

1. One (1) year previous experience in a clerical position.
2. Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
3. Ability to type.

PREFERRED

1. Experience in a patient care, or any hospital/medical clerical position.
2. Demonstrates basic computer skills.
3. Demonstrated service excellence skills.
4. Must possess good communication skills.
