Position Summary:

Applied Training Solutions, LLC is seeking an Unmanned Aircraft Specialist to support emergency operations by monitoring and identifying unauthorized small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS). This role is responsible for detecting, tracking, classifying, and identifying sUAS operating in restricted or sensitive areas, and providing detailed telemetry and aircraft data.

Key Responsibilities:

• Detect and monitor small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS) operating in unauthorized airspace
• Track flight paths and provide real-time telemetry data on sUAS
• Classify and identify the types of unmanned aircraft present in the area
• Coordinate with airspace and incident command personnel to support airspace security
• Assist with reporting, documentation, and logging of incidents involving unauthorized sUAS
• Support integration of detection data into the common operating picture
• Maintain and operate equipment used for detecting and tracking unmanned aircraft
• Ensure compliance with federal and state airspace regulations

Basic Qualifications:

• 3+ years of work experience in unmanned aircraft operations, aviation security, or airspace coordination
• Experience with UAS detection, telemetry analysis, or flight tracking systems
• Strong understanding of UAS classifications, capabilities, and regulatory guidelines
• Ability to work in high-pressure environments with rapid response demands
• Must be a U.S. citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

• FAA Part 107 Certification
• Experience supporting emergency operations or public safety aviation missions
• Familiarity with counter-UAS technologies and federal airspace management policies
• Proficiency with aerial surveillance or flight tracking tools

• Travel Required: Yes – up to 100% while on assignment

Working Environment:

Work may be performed in emergency operations centers, remote field environments, or aviation coordination hubs. Extended hours and travel may be required across the continental United States and its territories during emergency activations.
