Job Overview:

The main functions of the Utility Food Service Worker are washing of dishes, removal of garbage and trash, and overall sanitation of the department,

Qualifications:

Preferred:

• Previous food service experience

Scheduling Requirements:

• Shift working, 3:30p 7:30p each day / 4:00p-8:00p each day
• Rotating Weekends
• Part Time

Essential Functions:

• Sweeps and mops kitchen and cafeteria,
• Disposes of trash and cardboard,
• Has knowledge of MSDS sheets,
• Fills out sanitization log,
• Soaks, washes, rinses, sanitizes and stores all pots, pans and utensils used in food preparation for service,
• All items are free from food, soil and grease,
• Sanitized using the appropriate chemicals,
• Stored on racks properly to allow air circulation,
• Removes all garbage from the department as needed and instructed by the supervisor and places clean liners in garbage cans.
• Cleans and sanitize his hands as needed,
• Garbage dumpsters are cleaned and sanitized daily,
• Demonstrates flexibility and initiative on the job evidenced by the
• The following: utilize lulls in the workload to assist other department personnel in completing assignments,
• Keeps the work area in a clean, neat and organized fashion,
• Understands the duties of other comparable positions in the department so that coverage can be maintained during staffing shortages,
• Performs other duties as assigned.
