STOOS Consulting is looking for experts in the field of Veterinary Medicinal Product Control Center (VETKOM) in Turkey. This project, in line with the World Bank’s Environmental and Social Framework (ESF) and international best practices, will involve conducting a comprehensive Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA), developing a Stakeholder Engagement Plan, and preparing Sub-Management Plans for Contractors.
The ESIA will evaluate environmental and social risks during the design, construction, and operational phases, incorporating air quality and noise measurements, as well as stakeholder consultations. Given the scale and importance of this initiative, STOOS Consulting is seeking qualified experts with experience in environmental and social assessments for World Bank-funded projects.
Senior Social Specialist
Responsibilities
- S/He will identify all social risks of the project at local, regional and national levels and make recommendations for the elimination and/or reduction of risks, facilitate the implementation of ESIA (Environmental and Social Impact Assessment) and related ESMPs.
- Prepare a site-specific Stakeholder Engagement Plan (SEP) that will include a stakeholder analysis, stakeholder engagement program, specific needs of potentially vulnerable groups affected, a grievance mechanism, and a communication strategy to inform the public about the public health risks associated with the project.
• Qualifications
- Graduated from the faculty of Social Sciences or equivalent disciplines. (Preferably a Social Scientist with a master’s degree.)
- Will have at least 7 (seven) years of experience in Social Impact Assessment analysis in accordance with the relevant Turkish Legislation and the standards of international financial institutions (WB, IFC, EBRD, etc.).
- In the last 5 years, at least 2 (two) social impact assessment studies have been carried out according to the standards of international financial institutions (WB, IFC, EBRD, etc.) for infrastructure/construction projects.
- Knowledge and experience in conducting ESIA for biosafety laboratories shall be an asset.
Diplomas of technical personnel and documents showing similar work experience shall be submitted to the Administration at the proposal stage.
