Description

The Department of Government at Dartmouth College invites applications for a Visiting Professor from an Israeli university to conduct research and teach in the department during the 2026-27 academic year. Candidates who are pursing research and teaching related to Israel’s domestic politics or foreign/security relations, broadly construed, are particularly encouraged to apply.

The appointment is for 1 or 2 terms during any of Dartmouth’s four 10-week quarters. The successful candidate will teach 1 undergraduate course, related to Israeli politics, for each academic term in residence. Ideally applicants will have experience teaching a version of the proposed course. The visiting professor will also give a public lecture while at Dartmouth.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Political Science or a related field.
  • Applicants must have a research/teaching position at an Israeli university. Former practitioners without a doctorate but with relevant research and teaching experience may be considered.
  • This position is not eligible for H-1B sponsorship.
