The Weitz Company is seeking a Warehouse Manager- Equipment Manager to be located in Port Washington, Wisconsin. The Warehouse Manager is responsible for profitably managing the day-to-day warehouse and equipment operations. This role will collaborate closely with Application project teams and leadership to drive performance across all projects.

What You’ll Do:

  • Maintain Financials and reporting
  • Prepare annual budget
  • Maintain an organized and well-maintained warehouse and equipment operation
  • Collaborate with applicable warehouse and project teams prior to purchasing, leasing or renting equipment
  • Track equipment and tool usage to ensure regular scheduled maintenance is completed within regulations; recommend replacement, sale or repair, as necessary
  • Source and solidify reputable vendors
  • Pursue opportunities to provide additional services to project teams in an effort to expand warehouse operations
  • Support safety programs, including: assisting with implementation, ensuring all equipment and tools are in safe working condition, establishing positive safety behavior and adhering to safety protocols
  • Comply with DOT regulations (i.e. trailer weight/load restrictions, equipment maintenance)
  • Ensure equipment and tools are delivered timely to project sites in order to maximize productivity and in a cost-effective manner
  • Maintain current asset inventory to resolve inventory irregularities, usage inaccuracies and equipment uses
  • Operate small equipment to load/unload trucks, and other tasks as needed
  • Ensure invoices are accurate and timely, including correct coding to project sites
  • Stay abreast of new construction materials, equipment and technologies; evaluate if new techniques improve cost or productivity
  • Manage staff, to include: mentoring, creating development goals, delegating tasks/responsibilities, recommending disciplinary action and recruiting of qualified talent
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For:

  • education: An industry related bachelor’s degree is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Forklift Certification is required, or the willingness to obtain upon hire.
  • Experience: A minimum of seven (7) years of construction-related experience is preferred, including management of quality assurance processes and leading change within a warehouse. Lean Principles experience is desirable. OSHA 30 preferred, or the willingness to obtain upon hire.
  • Technology: Proficiency in basic computer software programs such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. Employee should have the ability to learn other specific software (JDE, Procore, Bluebeam, warehouse software, etc.).
  • Skills: A qualified candidate will demonstrate analytical, team leadership and organizational skills. They should also show strong independent judgment, verbal and written communication, project management, negotiation and relationship building abilities.
