Position Overview

The Student Programming Fellow supports the execution of WBLI programming, including the Ambassador and Facilitator Programs, and strengthens internal operations across the Institute. This role is highly student-facing and focuses on delivering high-quality leadership experiences through workshops, events, and ambassador engagement.

The Student Programming Fellow works closely with the Assistant Director, and Academic Director, as well as other WBLI Fellows and student teams, to ensure programming aligns with the Institute’s mission of developing principled student leaders.

In addition, this role plays a critical part in building operational structure within WBLI, improving processes, and leveraging technology platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Teams, Planner, Power Automate, Canva, etc) to enhance communication and efficiency.

This is more than a job;it’s a leadership development experience with a team. This posting will remain open for a minimum of two (2) weeks and may remain open longer based on Application volume and hiring needs.

Primary Duties

Ambassador Program

  • Act as the LEAD Ambassador for the WBLI Ambassador Program, helping execute recruitment, onboarding, and engagement.
  • Co-facilitate regular Ambassador meetings and ensure alignment with WBLI’s mission and programming goals.

Programming and Event Execution

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute WBLI programming, including Be BOLD Now, workshops, and signature events.
  • Recruit student participation and drive engagement across programming initiatives.
  • Conduct event debriefs and document processes to improve future programming.

Facilitators Team

  • Coordinate Facilitation Training
  • Manage Workshop Schedule and improve and oversee facilitation training process
  • Facilitate workshops and structured leadership programming sessions.

Operations

  • Support the Assistant Director in building and refining internal operational processes.
  • Document workflows, standardize programming logistics, and improve organizational efficiency.
  • Assist with coordination of meetings, internal systems, and cross-team communication.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives that support the Institute’s growth and long-term sustainability.
Additional Primary Duties

Technology and Systems Management

  • Utilize WBLI platforms such as Mailchimp, Microsoft Teams, Power Automate, Canva, and other internal tools.
  • Support communication, outreach, and operational workflows through effective use of technology.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through better use of systems and tools.

Collaboration and Representation

  • Work closely with WBLI leadership, Fellows, and student teams to execute Institute initiatives.
  • Collaborate with campus partners and external stakeholders to expand WBLI’s reach.
  • Represent WBLI at events, workshops, and key engagements.
Recurring Responsibilities

Weekly

  • Facilitate or support WBLI programming and workshops
  • Engage with and manage Ambassador communications
  • Attend WBLI staff team meetings, ambassador meetings
  • Meet with Assistant Director for planning meetings
  • Communicate with Key stakeholders inside and outside of UC

Monthly

  • Plan and execute major programming initiatives (e.g., Be BOLD Now)
  • Review and improve operational processes
  • Track and analyze program engagement data

Per Semester

  • Lead Ambassador recruitment and onboarding
  • Contribute to Annual Report data and insights
  • Evaluate programming effectiveness and implement improvements

Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Enrolled at a post-secondary institution or a secondary school.
  • Enrolled at least part-time (one or more credit hours if at a post-secondary institution), except for summer term, or will be a registered student during the next academic term.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • “Enrollment” shall include:
    • The period between two successive terms for which the student is enrolled.
    • The one “off” term in each academic year in which the student is not enrolled. Student employee status may be retained for one additional term following either graduation or withdrawal from enrollment.

Hourly Pay Rate: $14-18/hour
