Strategic Office Context:
This position is based at the Kathmandu Office under the UNICEF Nepal Country Office. It will align UNICEF’s monitoring and evaluation strategies, knowledge management systems, and WASH programming with national priorities and global frameworks to achieve sustainable and equitable WASH outcomes.
The WASH Officer (Monitoring & Evaluation/Knowledge Management) will provide support throughout the WASH programming process, enhancing M&E systems to ensure data-driven decision-making and effective program implementation.

How can you make a difference:
Under the guidance of the Chief WASH, the WASH Officer (Monitoring & Evaluation/Knowledge Management) supports the achievement of WASH-related output results in the country program. Collaborating with staff, external partners, and agency counterparts, the WASH Officer monitors progress, provides feedback on milestones, and recommends adjustments to improve effectiveness.

An advanced university degree in one of the following fields is required: civil engineering, public health, environmental engineering, water and sanitary engineering, climate change or another relevant technical field.
A minimum of two years of experience in WASH-related programs is required, emphasizing skills in monitoring, evaluation, and knowledge management within developing countries. Additionally, experience in disaster risk reduction and climate change would be an asset.
Prior experience in humanitarian work, particularly in managing knowledge systems, conducting monitoring and evaluation, or implementing WASH programs in an emergency setting, will be highly preferred.
Relevant Experience UN system agency or organization is considered as an asset.
Fluency in English and Nepali is required.
