The purpose of the WASH Project Manager position is to implement a delegated WASH project portfolio. The following is a brief description of the role.
What you will do
- Line management for project staff
- Adherence to NRC policies, guidance and procedures
- Contribute to the development of Country, Area, and WASH strategies, initiate, and participate in the development of the WASH projects
- Coordinate and manage WASH project implementation (activities, budget, and project documentation) in line with proposals, strategies, and donor requirements
- Implement technical direction and ensure high technical quality of projects
- Provide regular progress reports to the Area Manager and the WASH Specialist

What you will bring
- Contribute to needs assessments, including protection risks and needs, and provide area-specific information and input to CC PMs/HoP and APM for proposal development
- Responsible for the development and follow-up of detailed project work plans, spending plans, M&E plans, and resources for the WASH projects on an area level
- Scale up and diversify WASH operational capacity to ensure high-standard project implementation and potential expansion
- Overall accountable for monitoring and oversight of technical quality of WASH projects and maintaining transparency of implementation
- Support the consideration and inclusion of cash-based interventions and market-based approaches within (and across) NRC core competency responses, where appropriate
- Overall accountable for quality assurance of NRC GORS WASH data for the area
What we offer
Duty station: Ethiopia Afar Region.
Contract: 6 months (Fixed Term Contract – with possibility of extension)
Travel: 80%.
Salary/benefits: Grade 8 on NRC’s Ethiopia national salary scale
