ABOUT National Programme Policy Officer for School Feeding, NOA
This position is based in Port Sudan and reports to the Head of Nutrition and School Based Program Unit ; the Officer will lead the implementation of HGSF activities. This includes supporting capacity building for government and cooperating partners, managing partner agreements, overseeing the delivery of food and non-food items, and regularly updating implementation plans.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive):
1. Coordinate and manage school feeding implementation, including training, pipeline monitoring, and government capacity strengthening.
2. Engage with state governments to support rapid scale-up and strengthen implementation capacity.
3. Support the development and roll-out of home-grown school feeding models.
4. Contribute to timely and accurate reporting to inform decision-making and ensure consistency for stakeholders.
5. Liaise with internal teams to ensure effective collaboration and monitor ongoing activities.
6. Identify and support partnerships that enhance food assistance and programme impact.
7. Support the development and updating of SOPs, tools, and training materials especially for regular school feeding in conflict affected areas.
8. Coordinate community mobilization efforts for the onboarding of new schools.
9. Conduct regular field visits to provide technical support and engage with partners and state ministries.
10. Work closely with logistics to prioritize the delivery of NFIs across all states.
11. Collaborate with M&E to develop monitoring plans, tools, and training for both rural and urban contexts.
12. Support capacity building of WFP staff, partners, and government counterparts through learning and project management.
13. Provide guidance to support staff, assisting with analysis, problem-solving, and day-to-day queries.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :
Education:
University degree in International Affairs, Economics, Public Health Nutrition, Nutrition, Food Technology, Agriculture, Environmental Science, Social Sciences, or any other relevant field.
Experience:
At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in school-based programmes; experience school feeding and home-grown school feeding; experience in implementation of complex humanitarian operations.
Knowledge & Skills:
Knowledge in project management, monitoring and performance/donor reporting; knowledge in education sector and school feeding programming; networking and partnership building skills; strong written and oral communication skills; demonstrated coordination skills; ability to work with minimal supervision, self-motivated and innovative individual
Languages:
Fluency in oral and written Arabic and English
Level of Education: Bachelor Degree
Work Hours: 8
