Immediate hiring: Yard Worker (Shipping and Receiving)

Job Description

The Lumber Yard Worker is responsible for loading, unloading, and storing lumber and building materials. This role supports customers, drivers, and coworkers by ensuring the yard is organized, clean, and operates safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload lumber and building materials from trucks and customer vehicles.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment to move materials safely.
• Accurately pull orders and stage for delivery or pickup.
• Assist customers in locating and loading products.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe yard area.
• Check incoming materials for quality and accuracy.
• Follow company safety policies and procedures at all times.
• Perform routine equipment checks and report maintenance issues.
• Assist in cycle counts and inventory control tasks as needed.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.

Work Environment

The work is primarily outdoors and may involve exposure to various weather conditions. The role requires standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods. Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be used as required.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33280.00 – $33280.00/yr.

This is a direct hire so YBC has their own benefits, to be updated.
